Adults and children can celebrate the holiday of Sukkot with Reform Temple of Putnam Valley at a variety of free programs being offered at the temple located at 362 Church Road. ( A Sukkah is a hut that to signify the Jewish people wandering in the desert for 40 years before they were given the land of Israel by God in which to settle.)
On Friday, October 18 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., there will be a Shabbat service with a Dessert Oneg in the Sukkah.
Parents and grandparents: On Saturday, October 19, there will be a holiday workshop for children ages 3-7 taught by Jill Shoffiett, a renowned local artist from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. RSVP to RTPVinfo@gmail.com . Older children can sit it on a class in the RTPV Hebrew School and have snack in the Sukkah from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
