Latimer said: “The manufacturing industry is vital to the growth of our great County, offering well-paying jobs and making a tremendous impact on our economy. We want this job fair to serve the needs to our existing advanced manufacturing businesses by attracting skilled workers who either live in Westchester or want to work in Westchester. We have partnered with SUNY Westchester Community College to offer a training and certificate program to give entry-level and existing workers more opportunities in this sector. The job fair is just another additive to our commitment and desire to become a hub of this industry.”

Director of the Westchester County Office of Economic Development Bridget Gibbons, who co-chairs the County’s Advanced Manufacturing Task Force said: “We are focused on retaining, attracting and promoting advanced manufacturing businesses here in Westchester. We want this job fair to help identify a strong pipeline of talent that can continue to build our workforce, our economy and our County.”

President of the Council of Industry Harold King, also a member of the County’s Advanced Manufacturing Task Force said: “We are very pleased that Westchester County is hosting this career fair for advanced manufacturing and are excited to support and promote it to our member manufacturing firms. Recruiting and retaining workers remains the number one challenge for manufactures across the mid-Hudson region and particularly in Westchester County. This career fair provides an opportunity for manufacturers to connect with potential employees and share with them the exciting and rewarding careers they offer.”

Westchester County is home to a diverse advanced manufacturing industry that produces everything from package inspection equipment and plastic fluid handling products to circuit boards and aluminum parts. Participating companies include: Domino Sugar, Magnetic Analysis Corporation, PTI – Packaging Technologies and Inspection, Giuliante Machine Tools, Inc., Sun Chemical, Ball Chain Manufacturing Company, Inc. and others. Prior County job fairs have seen attendance of upwards of 200 job seekers.

Participants are encouraged to be prepared for on-the-spot interviews. Prospective employees are also advised to bring multiple copies of their resume and a picture ID.
