Former Councilman Frank Lombardi re-elected to Town Council while Carmel Republicans retain their dominance in other races.

Former Carmel Town Councilman Frank Lombardi has been returned to the seat he lost in the last election. Mr. Lombardi will joined by his friend and political newcomer Robert F. Schanil, Jr. on the Carmel Town Board this January. Both men easily won their seats over the lone Democrat challenger Jean J. Hopper. Miss Hopper received 2,199 votes while Mr Schanil and Mr. Lombardi received 3.746 and 3,654 votes respectively. Both men were grateful to the voters for giving them the chance to "Do the right thing" for the town and it's citizens and look forward to working together and with their fellow Board Members over the next 4 years. Town Republicans also took several other Town Offices and retained their 2 seats on the County Legislature

The other races in the Town saw Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt (REP, CON, IND) who ran unopposed, elected to another term in office as was Ann Spofford (REP, CON, IND). She was reelected to the office of Town Clerk.

Thomas J. Jacobellis (REP, CON, IND) was elected Town Justice, unopposed, and Michael J. Simone (REP, CON, IND) was elected Highway Superintendent, also unopposed. Kathleen S. Kraus (REP, CON, IND) was elected Receiver of Taxes.

In the race for County Legislator, 5th District which encompasses the Hamlet of Carmel, the east side of Lake Carmel and the Western portion of Patterson, Incumbent Carl Albano (REP, CON, IND) was reelected to his seat with 1,122 votes which was 492 votes more then his Democratic challenger Rebecca C. Swan (DEM, PUT)

County Legislator for the 9th District, Neal L. Sullivan (REP, CON, IND) was unopposed and retains his seat.

DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Robert V. Tendy (REP, CON, LBT, IND), ran unopposed and was reelected with 13,523 votes.

County Court Judge

Joseph J. Spofford Jr. (REP, CON, IND)  received 10,649 votes.

Camille S. Linson (. DEM, LBT, SAM) received 7,838 votes.

Gina C. Capone (DEM, REP, CON, IND) received 16,639 votes.

Lewis J. Lubell (DEM, REP, CON, IND, SAM) received 16.030 votes.

Steven I. Milligram (DEM, REP, CON, IND) received 15,797 votes.

Robert H. Freehill (REP, CON, IND) received 9490 votes.

Nancy Quinn Koba (DEM, SAM) received 7,561 votes.
