Early on New Years Day, Town of Carmel Supervisor Kenneth Schmitt, along with newly elected Council members, Robert Schanil, Jr. and Frank Lombardi took their oaths of office at Carmel Town Hall. The oaths were administered by Carmel Town Justice Daniel Miller.
Supervisor Schmitt, was re-elect to a seventh term as Supervisor in November while Frank Lombardi returns to the seat he lost in a close election a few years ago. They were joined on the Town Board by political newcomer Robert Schanil, a retired Mount Vernon Police Officer.
Also taking the oath of office with the new Council members and the Town Supervisor was Mike Simone , the Carmel Town Highway Superintendent
