Reopen Putnam Safely Task Force Submits List of Business Needs and Reopening Recommendations

List of Business Needs and Reopening Recommendations sent to

Governor Cuomo and County Executive

The Putnam County Business Council (PCBC) Reopen Putnam Safely Task Force today submitted a 15-page report to the Governor’s Office and the Putnam County Executive’s Office. In support of the local business community, the report offers insight into the critical needs of our businesses across 12 priority industries. Additionally, recommendations* have been offered as a way to assist our state and local leaders with ongoing reemergence plans affecting the Putnam County economy.

“As the county’s business advocacy organization, we have engaged a Reopen Putnam Safely Task Force to assist in shepherding our members and the business community, at large, as they reopen or prepare to reopen according to their industry phase,” said Jennifer Maher, PCBC Chairwoman. “In collaboration with the Business Council of Westchester, we have developed a concise report based on the reopening and financial needs of our businesses. The intent is to give voice to our business community at the highest level, so we are not overburdened, overlooked or under-funded during this slow recovery period.”

The public may access the report via the PCBC website. The Putnam County Business Council will continue to engage with the business community and communicate its needs to the State and County prior to Phase 3 and 4. We encourage businesses who wish to be heard regarding reopening issues, challenges, and needs to attend the PCBC Town Hall via Zoom on Monday, June 22nd at 2pm. Those interested in joining may register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZIvc-igqD8jGdVYCDB-b1KZW1oIWd-r_HRq. Local businesses may also connect with the Business Council via email, info@putnamcountybusinesscouncil.com, and by participating in other virtual events, which are posted to the site, as well as emailed to subscribers.

*As the management of the pandemic is constantly evolving based on new data and research, some of these recommendations may have already been modified in the NYS Guidelines.
