Putnam County Weekly Update on Covid-19 Cases.

Putnam County officials have released their weekly update on Covid-19 in Putnam County. All information provided is as of 5 pm on Friday June 12, 2020.

There are now a total of 1485 laboratory confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Putnam County and 9 of those cases, are actively being monitored by the Putnam County Health Department. On May 25th there were 45 cases actively being monitored and only 1 case is currently in Putnam County Hospital. The Health Department reports that 1475 cases are classified Released or "no longer Isolated/Quarantined". "Released" cases includes cases that tested positive, were quarantined and monitored as well as possible cases that may have been exposed by a close contact with a positive case. No official government agency is actively tracking recovered cases at this time.

Residents between the ages 0-9 have accounted for 28 cases, the 10-19 age bracket has 59. The 20-29 year olds have 155 and 30 to 39 account for 252 cases. The 40-49 age group account for 276, 50-59 account for 308, 60-69 account for 194 (+2) while those 70-79 have 109, Residents over 80 account for 104 cases. With 157 more tests administered since June 5th, it brings the total of those tested in Putnam County since March 1st to 12,521 residents tested.

The percentage of cases by gender has been steady at 53% male and 47% Female which is unchanged over the last 8 weeks.

The New York State Department of Health is reporting 62 deaths due to Covid-19 in Putnam County as of 5pm Friday June 12th, 2020.
