Putnam County Covid-19 Update For Week Ending 09/11/2020

Putnam County officials released their weekly update on Covid-19 in Putnam County. All information provided is from 09/03/2020 through the close of business on 09/11/2020 unless otherwise noted.

There are now a total of 1737 laboratory confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Putnam County and 17 of those cases are actively being monitored (but not yet released) by the Putnam County Health Department as of 09/11/2020. On May 25th there were 45 cases actively being monitored. There is currently 1 case in Putnam County Hospital. 

The Health Department reports that 1720 cases are classified Released or "No Longer Isolated/Quarantined". "Released" cases includes cases that tested positive, were quarantined and monitored as well as possible cases that may have been exposed by a close contact with a positive case. No official government agency is actively tracking recovered cases at this time.

The county did not release a breakdown by age group and hasnt for several weeks. The total of those tested in Putnam County since March 1st is now 40,457, which is approximately 41% of the total county population just over 97,700.

The New York State Department of Health is reporting 63 deaths due to Covid-19 in Putnam County as of 4pm August 14, 2020. NY State has not reported any new deaths in Putnam County since that time.
