Police Respond to Report of Carmel Resident with Weapon

On 10-19-2018 at approximately 1320 hrs, Kent Police Officers responded to 46 Vernon Drive for the welfare check of a male subject suffering from depression and locked in his residence. Officers were unable to initially make contact with the subject who was thought to possibly have a weapon. Officers requested the assistance of the Putnam County Sheriff's office, the Putnam County Emergency Response Team and the Westchester County Hazardous Device Unit. After several hours of negotiations and coordination amongst all involved, the individual was brought into custody and transported to the Putnam Hospital Center.
