You're invited to participate in next week's Public Hearing (Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.) on the proposed Form Based Code as described in the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS). All residents and interested organizations are invited to participate.
More than 1,000 residents have participated in the process - from the three informational engagement sessions, the two public hearings conducted so far, and all of you who have asked questions of the Planning Department.
The Form Based Code aims to move Chappaqua forward through making our Town's zoning code clear, concise, and efficient. Prior to the public hearings, the Town conducted three community engagement sessions that reviewed the proposed code, potential transportation and environmental impacts, and alternatives.
The goal of the Form Based Code is to reverse the long, slow decline of the hamlet by allowing smart, measured growth that is mindful of the character of the hamlet while increasing feet on the street — people to support the kind of quaint local businesses we all love.
