Keeping New Castle Clean and Quiet: Seasonal Ban on Gas Leaf Blowers

The Sustainability Advisory Board reminds residents that the seasonal ban on gas leaf blowers is in effect June 1 to September 30 in New Castle.  Please ensure that all landscapers/gardeners and others performing work on your property are aware of the law and comply.  Electric leaf blowers can be used year-round; however, limited use is encouraged. 

The seasonal ban reduces noise and air pollution during the months when residents enjoy being outdoors in their yards and when the air quality index (AQI) for ozone and particle pollution are high, leading to greater risk of health concerns. 
Violations should be reported to the New Castle Police Non-Emergency number: (914) 238-4422.
