New Castle's Betsy Towl is Women of Distinction Honoree

In this week's Supervisor's Report, Rob Greenstein Supervisor of New Castle congratulated Betsy Towl for being a Women of Distinction honoree.

Betsy was the Executive Director of the New Castle Historical Society for 22 years.

Greenstein explains, "In the late 1990's, she led the organization which permitted the historical society to purchase and restore the Horace Greeley House."

Under Betsy's leadership, the organization grew from a small group of volunteers with an office in borrowed space to a wonderful historic house museum in the center of the community.

"Betsy continues to be a valued volunteer of the historical society to this day. Betsy has also served on the New Castle Beautification Advisory Board for the past 15 years and has recently been appointed to the New Castle Landmark Advisory Committee," says Greenstein.

Congratulations to Betsy and thank you for the tremendous imprint you have made on our community!
