There are two government-operated vaccination sites in Westchester County:
- Westchester County Health Clinic on Court Street in White Plains – This is a smaller site operated by the County DOH that is limited to essential workers, including health care workers. This site provides 300-350 vaccines per day and has vaccinated 3,327 people total (as of 1/24).
- Westchester County Center in White Plains – Operated by the State, this site is open from 8AM-7PM, 7 days/week. They vaccinate 1000-1100 people per day and have vaccinated a total of 12,838 people to date (as of 1/24).
Parking at the County Center is free if you park in the Westchester County parking lot.
To determine eligibility, find information about vaccination sites, and schedule appointments at New York State-run vaccination sites only, use the Am I Eligible app or call the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline from 7am - 10pm, 7 days a week at 1-833-NYS-4-VAX (1-833-697-4829).
If at first, you don’t succeed…! Spots will open up as more product becomes available, and as people re-schedule or cancel appointments. Keep trying!
The bottleneck residents are experiencing in terms of scheduling a vaccination appointment is real and it is frustrating. There are not enough vaccination sites, and the sites are not conveniently located. However, the State will not expand the number of locations until more product is received. County and local governments are ready to open pop-up vaccination sites…whenever we are able!
If you are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1a or Phase 1b, you can sign up for the Westchester County Health Department’s Alert system, which will alert you when more vaccine doses become available: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JFX97LP.
LOCAL HELP FOR SENIORS
We are here to help! The Town of New Castle has Community Center staff available to assist from seniors Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. Seniors in need of assistance can call the center at 914-238-8888. We are hopeful that we will be able assist senior residents with making appointments as appointments become available. For now, we are gathering contact information from seniors who are interested in getting vaccinated and will contact them as we get more information.
