Lecture: Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL

The festival has become widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history as well as a defining event for the counter-culture generation.

Facilitator David Fruci, adj. prof. WCC will present a program using guitar and Power Point to re-live the event including musicians's stories and the reason for its relocation and financial disaster.

Dangerous Melodies vividly evokes a time when classical music stood at the center of 20th century American life, occupying a prominent place in the nation's culture and politics. Momentous international events were intertwined with the work of renowned conductors, instrumentalists and singers.

Author Jonathan Rosenberg, a Julliard-trained musician and professor of history at Hunter College and the CUNY Graduate Center, explores this fascinating entanglement.'
