American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Waterfront Skills Course Are you 15 or older and looking for an exciting summer job or a challenging career? American Red Cross Lifeguarding is the best place to start! Lifeguarding puts you in an exciting position, working as part of a team to help people safely enjoy the water. You could save a life too!

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and Waterfront Skills course makes learning fun and easy. Through classroom learning, videos, presentations and hands-on practice, you'll learn:

 Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries

 Rescue skills - in the water and on land & learn professional lifeguard responsibilities

 First aid training and Professional Rescuer CPR and AED - to help you prepare for any emergency

Prerequisites: [Subject to Change for 2012 ARC updates]

 Minimum age of 15.

 Tread water for 2 minutes with no hands (hands tucked under armpits)

 Swim 550 yards continuously using each of the following strokes front crawl and breaststroke

 New Timed event: Swim 20 yards submerge to a minimum depth of 7 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object and return to the surface, swim 20 yards back the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

 New Skill: Retrieve 3 dive rings placed in 7 feet of water and swim 5 yards to side of pool

Dates: Session 1, June, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 9:00am – 1:30pm

Sessions 2, June 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 1pm – 7pm

Session, June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 1pm - 5pm

Cost: $425/– Non Members $400/ - Members
