Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
Four questions with Matthew Tallett.
Why did you start your business?
I started this business because of my passion for Homes, Architecture, History & Heritage. I have had a genuine interest in homes since I was a young boy and remember scouring the classified ads reading home listing descriptions and circling my favorite homes. I love architecture and design which allows me to provide value to my clients when they walk into a new space. I can help them envision their things in a home or how update a space to make it their dream home.
What is your best-selling product/service?
My best service is my overall bespoke Real Estate approach. Whether it's listing a home and marketing it appropriately with the right photography, staging, and platforms or helping buyers find the right home even in a tough market. Building great long-lasting relationships is the cornerstone of my business. It is wonderful when clients become dear friends.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
I have a wonderful team of people who I work with from local lenders, attorneys, architects, interior architects & designers, home stagers, private chefs & builders. I am more than happy to name them all.

- Chiefly Design - Interior Architect
- What Clark Cooked & Fairchilds Fromage - Private Chef

- Quindico Home Builders
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
I believe I have. It's not that I had to reimagine my business specifically but that I am trying to reimagine Real Estate as a whole. Everything is online these days and this is where you make your first impression. Whether it's myself as an established Real Estate Sales Executive or a listing I am presenting, if you don't make an amazing first impression from the beginning, you are likely to be skipped over.
