The Greenwich Art Society is offering Procreate: Basics & Problem Solving via Zoom beginning Sept. 14

The Greenwich Art Society is offering NEW program: PROCREATE: BASICS & PROBLEM SOLVING via Zoom with LAURETTA JONES

10 Thursdays
September 14 through November 16

1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Procreate — an inexpensive yet richly functional drawing program for Apple’s iPad — can complement your art process whether working out studies and sketches, trying what-if scenarios with work-in-progress in traditional mediums, or creating fully digital works.

This newly revised class will get both novices and those with some experience up and running with the basics. Then we will explore the rich Procreate tools and features through demonstrations and practical applications to “how-do-I?” questions from class members. No experience necessary for this class.

Classes are held on Zoom, where everyone has a first-row seat for screen-share demonstrations. An overhead camera will let you see my hand on the iPad as I demonstrate.

The class is a mix of demonstrations, homework suggestions, Q&A and time to try it on your iPad.

Sample over 100 brush styles, mix colors and create reusable palettes. Experiment with the powerful and versatile capability of layers. Learn to use reference photos and to select, manipulate and combine parts of images. Explore special effects and masking. Learn how to move your work from Procreate to the gallery wall.

Drawing on the iPad is especially fun, precise and versatile with the Apple Pencil, though you can use your finger.
