Heather Gaudio Fine Art Relocates from New Canaan to Greenwich, Announces Grand Opening and Exhibit

Heather Gaudio Fine Art (HGFA) relocated from New Canaan to a larger space in Greenwich, Connecticut last month. The new location at 382 Greenwich Avenue, previously occupied by Winston Flowers, will host a public grand opening celebration on Thursday, September 21 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.  The celebration will also include a new exhibition launch. The first exhibit at the new location is titled, "Making Their Mark: 7 Women in Abstraction," and will run from September 21 to November 4.

For over a decade, HGFA has served as a primary contemporary fine art destination for Fairfield County and its surrounding communities. The gallery began as a one-room exhibition space on South Avenue in New Canaan in 2011 and four years later the gallery moved to a larger space on the corner of Elm Street in downtown New Canaan. Over the next several years, the gallery cultivated its roster to feature artists from different locations in the United States and abroad. The client base also grew to private and corporate collectors from far-reaching regions in Europe, Latin America, Australia, and Asia.

"We started out as a small operation and over the years the gallery program, its roster of artists, and its client base have grown beyond expectations. We would not be here today were it not for the loyal following and support from our collectors, particularly those in the New Canaan community," explained gallery Principal, Heather Gaudio.

HGFA was also able to advance its footprint by participating in many notable art fairs, including ZONAMACO in Mexico City.  During the pandemic, when art fairs were on hiatus, HGFA opened PROJECTS, a temporary exhibition venue a few steps away from the main gallery. PROJECTS offered an opportunity to collaborate with other dealers and exhibit blue-chip contemporary masters, an alternative artist pool, as well as exhibit site-specific installations. "We are proud to have presented the community with diverse engaging experiences and acquisition opportunities," said Gaudio.

The new location 382 Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich will offer HGFA a larger exhibition floor plan with a cohesive operational space and on-site storage. The gallery unofficially opened its doors in early September. "We look forward to continuing our spirit of growth by expanding the visibility of our artists and the gallery program to a wider audience. We will maintain our personalized client service relationships in New Canaan and beyond, core to the DNA of our organization, and are very excited about the new opportunities ahead," Gaudio explained.

Gaudio attended art school at the Scuola Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence and Santa Fe, New Mexico, and earned a BFA. Once she moved to Connecticut, she started her own art advisory business and in 2011 and opened Heather Gaudio Fine Art. Today, HGFA has over 40 artists on its roster and features six to eight exhibitions a year. Gaudio and her team also spend a significant amount of time advising clients and educating them on their tastes. Gaudio has placed artwork in a state-of-the-art Children's hospital in Virginia and corporate collections, where art was central to their mission.
