BACKGROUND:  The Early Childhood Fair is a free event that offers children (ages birth to eight) and their families a chance to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, games, and hands-on learning activities while meeting representatives from area preschools, daycares, and Stamford Public Schools to receive important information on preschool and kindergarten registration.  The Fair also offers parents an opportunity to learn about community-based organizations and the many health, education, and social-service resources available to them in the city.

This year’s Fair will include fun activities such as the ever popular Stamford Police and Fire Touch a Truck area, the Ferguson Library’s Bookmobile, and performances by popular children’s performers The Bossy Frog, Ms. Karen Hall and The Pender-Keady Academy of Irish Dancers.  The event is co-sponsored by the Stamford Early Childhood Collaborative, UWWC, The City of Stamford, Ferguson Library, Stamford Hospital, Chelsea Piers, Stamford Public Schools, and the Stamford School Readiness Foundation.  Last year’s event drew 450 families.

The media and interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
