Inner-City Foundation Announces Latest Fairfield County Grant Awards

Fairfield County’s Inner-City Foundation Awards Grants to 8 Local Organizations

The Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education announced their most recent grant awards today, awarding 8 grants totaling $80,000 to local Fairfield County programs and organizations.

Grant awardees include organizations and programs providing education and/or social services, including: Catholic Charities of Fairfield County; Character Connection Initiative; Child and Family Guidance Center, Bridgeport; Filling in the Blanks, Inc.; Inspirica, Inc.; New Reach, Inc.; Shepherds, Inc.; and Stamford Center for the Arts.

Catholic Charities of Fairfield County receives a grant to expand Immigration Services to help newcomers to Fairfield County. Character Connection, Initiative, Inc. is awarded funding to expand their School and Beyond program, which helps students to build their character and to recognize its importance and connection to success. Child and Family Guidance Center, Bridgeport is provided funding to provide expanded trauma-informed, culturally competent and bilingual services to children and families. Filling in the Blanks, Inc. receives funds for their Weekend Food Bag Delivery Program, providing weekend food for children whose school day meal is often the only nutritious meal available to them. Inspirica, Inc. receives a grant that will help them to continue their two-generation approach to ending homelessness. New Reach, Inc. receives funding to help them to continue to stabilize lives at Crescent Crossing housing in Bridgeport. Shepherds, Inc. receives a grant toward their mentoring, scholarship and tuitition assistance program for Kolbe High School. Stamford Center for the Arts is granted funds to continue a growing arts education program.

The Inner-City Foundation has granted more than $30 million to hundreds of local organizations over their 27 year history in Fairfield County, including programs that provide education and scholarship, adult education, food, shelter, help for addiction, domestic violence and more. The charity’s mission is to provide support to programs and organizations helping the neediest residents of Fairfield County.
