Bruce and Margie Warwick to be honored at Under the Stars, a benefit for Pediatrics and Women’s Health at Greenwich Hospital

Longtime Greenwich Hospital supporters Bruce and Margie Warwick will be honored at the Under the Stars event on Friday, May 17. The fundraiser will be held from 7 to 11:30 pm at Riverside Yacht Club to benefit the comprehensive range of pediatric and women’s health services at the hospital. To date, the event has raised over $600,000. Tickets, tables and sponsorships are still available.

Bruce Warwick’s numerous successful ventures in real estate include working with his colleagues at Related Companies on the $3 billion redevelopment of Columbus Circle into the Time Warner Center, and the newly opened Hudson Yards. Hudson Yards, located along the Hudson River between 30th and 34th Streets in Manhattan, is the largest private development in the nation’s history.

While realizing these achievements in his professional career, Bruce Warwick concurrently devoted his creative talents and visionary leadership toward transforming Greenwich Hospital into a nationally-recognized institution of excellence. “His foresight has had a lasting impact on the hospital’s robust future trajectory,” said Norman Roth, Greenwich Hospital president and chief executive officer.

Warwick was appointed to Greenwich Hospital’s Board of Trustees in 1986, and assumed the role of chairman of the Building Committee. From 1993 through 1995 he served as chairman of the Board. During his tenure, he and his colleagues secured a partnership with Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) and the strategic planning and construction of two new buildings – the Leona and Harry B. Helmsley Medical Building, opened in 1999, and the Tom and Olive Watson Pavilion, opened in 2003 – with fully integrated, sophisticated information systems, a new birthing center and a neonatal intensive care unit. He has remained on the Board in various capacities including the Real Estate and Nominating Committees.

“Both Bruce and Margie have been pillars of this community and this institution for decades,” said Roth, noting Margie Warwick’s dedicated volunteerism to Greenwich Hospital. “Margie has a passion for healthcare and philanthropy and has served on our gala fundraising committee throughout the years. The entire Warwick family’s stewardship of Greenwich Hospital as a premier medical facility set the stage for the hospital’s future growth and development plans.”

Also being honored at this year’s Under the Stars are the Walker Family from Shreve, Crump

& Low and Karen Santucci, MD, section chief, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Jeff Glor, anchor of the CBS Evening News, will emcee the event that will feature a performance by Pop & Contemporary R&B vocal group, 98 Degrees.
