Fundraising Event Supports Greenwich EMS In Need of Medical Equipment

Greenwich EMS Is there For You – Be there for Them! Fundraising Benefit to purchase medical equipment for GEMS during the Pandemic

Be comforted in knowing GEMS is on the front lines, 24/7,serving the emergency medical needs of the Town of Greenwich during this health crisis caused by Covid-19. Despite critical staffing, protective equipment, and family distancing challenges affecting emergency responders everywhere, GEMS staff is commitment to professional, prompt and compassionate care remains steadfast.

COVID-19 and its precautions have severely impacted GEMS’s non-Town revenue sources and fundraising activities. As a result, the organization needs additional financial support now more than ever. Every dollar of every contribution received by GEMS goes directly toward ensuring it has the proper equipment not only to navigate this COVID-19 crisis, but to respond to every medical emergency with the highest quality.

You can show your support to GEMS and its lifesaving work by participating in the virtual fundraiser Wine and Cheese Tasting Friday evening, February 5 at 7:00 pm. All proceeds will go to support GEMS as the staff works on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Additionally, they will be invited to a private Zoom session with the Founder of Josh Cellars, Joseph Carr.  He will talk about how he got started in the wine business and tell some of his fascinating stories along with Sommelier, Theo Rutherford, from Deutsch family Wines and Spirits. Cheesemonger Lydia Caspari, from Arethusa Farm, will share about the cheeses. There will be a Q&A at the end.

“We have had successful fundraising events for the past three years and we didn’t want to lose momentum because of the pandemic,” said, Tracy Schietinger, Executive Director of GEMS. “GEMS staff is on the front lines every day, and this event will help raise critical funds to ensure that we have the proper equipment not only to address the Covid-19 crisis, but to respond to every medical emergency with the highest quality of care.”
