Kids In Crisis Gala on May 6 at at the Greenwich Audubon Center!

Backcountry Safari at the Greenwich Audubon Center to Raise Much-Needed Funds for Kids In Crisis Programming Throughout Fairfield County

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Kids In Crisis gala, the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, returns Friday, May 6. Organized by co-chairs Dominick Miciotta and Jason Smith, Backcountry Safari will take place at the Greenwich Audubon Center with Greenwich mom and broadcaster Jodi Applegate and Denis LaPolice serving as emcees. All proceeds raised will help fund the award-winning shelter, counseling and community-based programs provided by Kids In Crisis.

“For more than 40 years, our gala has provided a significant portion of the funds we rely on to serve more than 5,000 children in need every year. It has been a tremendous loss to be unable to host this event since 2019,” said Shari Shapiro, Executive Director or Kids In Crisis. “Kids In Crisis never closed its doors throughout the pandemic and we see first-hand the devastating effects this pandemic has on children. Our work is more important now than ever before. We welcome the opportunity to once again bring together our strong community of supporters, celebrate the incredible work of Kids In Crisis staff, and raise money to fund vital Kids In Crisis programming throughout Fairfield County.”

The success of the annual gala relies entirely on the generosity of individuals and businesses within the community. This year’s sponsors include Morgan Stanley, Mitchells Stores and Fairfield County LOOK. Kids In Crisis’ goal is to connect with 25,000 additional children and families in need between 2021 and 2025 through outreach services. If you would like to learn more about this effort, please visit www.kidsincrisis.org.
