Greenwich Land Trust Hosts 20th Annual Go Wild!

Greenwich Land Trust Hosts 20th Annual Go Wild! Family Field Day

Tickets for the September 22 event include all rides, activities, food and drinks

The community is invited to join Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) for the special 20th anniversary celebration of Go Wild!, its annual family field day on Sunday, September 22 at the Greenwich Polo Club.

Hot air balloons will soar above Conyers Farm, providing guests with a spectacular view of GLT’s expansive 62-acre preserve below. The grounds will be chock-a-block with games, activities, and entertainment for all ages, including Soccer with Aldwin, a rock-climbing wall, bungee trampolines, pony rides, an inflatable corn maze, autumn crafts, close encounters with fire trucks, sports cars, and much more.

The Go Wild! ticket price includes all rides and activities, as well as delicious food truck fare from Caffè Bon, Loco BBQ, Mister Softee, New Haven Pizza Truck, Super Duper Weenie, and Taco Loco, plus snacks, drinks and adult beverages, served throughout the day. DJs from WEBE 108 will be broadcasting live from the event and playing the latest tunes.

Patron ticket holders will be given early access to the event, one hour before the general public, to be the first to enjoy all the Go Wild! activities. They will also have special admittance to the Patron Tent, sponsored by Sotheby’s International Realty, featuring an upgraded bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and special children’s activities.

According to 2019 co-chairs Briana Hart and Sarah Pribyl, the 20th anniversary event offers a wonderful opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of open space. The polo grounds are on land that comprises one of the largest conservation easements overseen and cared for by the Land Trust.

Greenwich Land Trust was incorporated in 1976 and began operations that year with 30 properties totaling about 80 acres. Today, GLT conserves and stewards 776 acres throughout Greenwich.

Co-chairs of the inaugural Go Wild! and this year’s honorary co-chairs, Jane Dunn and Leslie Lee, reminisce about the first family field day: “Board members flipped hamburgers, volunteers in orange t-shirts helped smaller children with the rope wall and the maze made from hay bales while the Ragtime Evolution Jazz Band played toe-tapping country music.”

“For twenty years, Go Wild! has been wildly successful, helping Greenwich Land Trust raise money to preserve the open space that contributes to the natural resources, historical character, and scenic beauty of Greenwich,” notes Lee.

Greenwich Land Trust is thankful for the generosity of the 2019 Go Wild! sponsors: Title Sponsor: Dibico; Platinum Sponsor: Sotheby’s International Realty; Gold Sponsors: Betteridge, Emerald Tree & Shrub Care, Horseneck Wine & Spirits, Juicy Juice Juicy Waters, Miller Motorcars, Orvis, and Whitby School; Green Sponsors: The Brant Foundation Art Study Center, Brighton Cleaners, Finocchio Brothers, Inc., Fjallraven, Historic Floors & Finishes by Stephen Gamble, Hoffman Landscapes, Passerelli Landscapes, Signature Pools, Troy’s Garden Nurseries, Vineyard Vines, and Wadia Associates. Media Sponsors: Greenwich Sentinel, Moffly Media, and Connoisseur Media.
