Avon Theater and Greenwich Theater Company present musical one-woman show: A Journey on Wednesday, November 11

“We are thrilled that Kimberly Wilson will be bringing, A JOURNEY, A Musical One- Woman Show to the Avon Theatre Film Center for two performances on Wednesday, November 11, 2020,” says Stuart Adelberg, Executive Director of Avon Theatre Film Center."

She spans the centuries by bringing to life eight stories of Black Womanhood, from an African Queen to Harriet Tubman to Maya Angelou. Through her character transformations and joyous celebrations, our audiences will join her on a powerful Journey of courage, persistence, hope, faith, and love. "I can’t think of a better way to launch our first-ever live theatrical performance than by being transported with Kimberly through history and time.”

“Kimberly Wilson is a tour-de-force says Jack Rushton, Greenwich Theatre Company’s Director of New Play Programs. “This is a compelling and important theatrical experience, not to be missed, and we are extremely pleased to be partnering with Avon Theatre Film Center. Our unique space at 100 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT has been home to Neighbor to Neighbor since the beginning of the pandemic, helping thousands of families which will continue into 2021 so having The Avon's support is such a gift."

Stuart Adelberg continues, “During these difficult times both our organizations believe that keeping the arts alive is a shared mission and a shared responsibility. We are looking forward to this co-production with Greenwich Theatre Company. We also want patrons to be comfortable coming to the theatre, with the knowledge that the Avon reopened several months ago, in full compliance with the guidelines established by the State and the CDC.
