Divorce Resource CT Offering Free Virtual Divorce Workshops

Divorce Resource CT has been providing workshops for people contemplating (or in the early stages of ) divorce since 2015. Rosemarie Ferrante, Esq. of Divorce Mediation Center of Ridgefield/ Danbury and Hollis Hardiman, CDFA, of Price Financial Group, LLC are the team behind Divorce Resource CT (a part of the Second Saturday divorce workshop series). They both are driven by the desire to raise awareness for nonadversarial divorce options so that families can transition through the divorce process in a smooth and healthy manner, ultimately benefitting the most important people involved, the children.

Pre-covid, the pair, with guest presenters from the mental health and wellness professions, held half day in person workshops in which the legal, financial and emotional aspects of divorce were all explored. Since April of 2020 the team transitioned to virtual workshops and expanded their offerings to couples workshops, one hour lunch and learn (highlighting the top legal and financial questions most people have when contemplating divorce) and even subject based interviews, such as their recent discussion with Wendy Sterling, a nationally known “divorce recovery specialist”.

Rosemarie Ferrante, Esq. is an attorney whose practice focuses solely on the non-adversarial processes of mediation and collaborative divorce. She belives that spouses can work together to create a positive post-divorce coparenting relationship, by working together through the divorce process, with the guidance of the right team of divorce professionals best suited to meet their family’s specific needs.

Hollis Hardiman is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst who believes that building a support team of divorce professionals including attorneys, medaitors and therapists can help her clients make the best decisions during such an emotional time. She is certified in both mediation and collaborative divorce and helps spouses understand their short and long term financial goals and how to best meet those goals through the divorce process.

The Divorce Resource CT Divorce 101 Workshop typically addresses the following:

Litigation vs. meditation vs. collaborative divorce and the pros and cons of each;

Parenting plans and child support;

Alimony (spousal support);

Property division, including addressing ownership of the home; and

Planning for retirement after divorce.

Each virtual workshop ends with a live Q&A session where attendees can ask questions specific to their situation.

The next Divorce Resource CT workshop will be taking place on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at noon. Attendees interested in signing up for the complimentary workshop can sign up here.
