<p>The 17th Century was an incredibly productive time for art in The Netherlands, with great painters like Rembrandt, Hals and Vermeer, and a revolution in the style and subject matter of art. Landscapes, still lifes, portraits and genre paintings were bought in great numbers as the Dutch Republic prospered.</p>
