Greenwich Memorial Day Parade

The Annual Memorial Day Parade brought to you by the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department (SBVFD) will take place Monday, May 30 beginning at 10 a.m.

The SBVFD has a few helpful comments:

* Due to safety concerns, NO candy will be thrown out to the children along the parade route.
* As per State Law, any children 15 years of age or younger in or on box or regular bikes must wear a helmet or may be asked to not participate.
* Due to the Sound Beach Avenue bridge closure, please be advised that parking will be extremely limited. Please plan accordingly.

Since 1923, the Department has sponsored the annual Memorial Day Parade that is held in Old Greenwich. The parade is immediately followed by a short ceremony in Binney Park to commemorate the U.S. men and women who have died in military service to our country. During the ceremony, the names of local residents from Old Greenwich, North Mianus and Riverside who died in action are read out load.
