Get Ready to Rock! Merlin Kicks off Greenwich Historical Society’s ‘Music on the Great Lawn’ Concerts

Summer is officially underway at the Greenwich Historical Society on June 2nd with an encore performance by Merlin at the opening of the Music on the Great Lawn series. Music lovers will not want to miss the hugely popular 5-piece band led by Greenwich’s own Bob Capazzo. Known for their rock classics and engaging high energy, raise-the-roof style, Merlin’s versatile approach will span various musical styles and appeal to all ages.

“We’re extremely excited and honored to open with Merlin,” says Dianne Niklaus, Greenwich Historical Society Manager of Marketing Communications. “They will be fresh off the heels of an appearance at the Greenwich Town Party the weekend before, and at the end of the month, Bob Capazzo will be this year’s Greenwich Sentinel Award recipient at their ‘feel good party of the year’ on June 30th. We are thrilled for Bob, whose many talents include photography and martial arts in addition to being a terrific person and family man.”

The Music on the Great Lawn concert is from 6:30 – 8pm. Grounds open at 5:30 for picnicking on the lawn. Additional performances follow every other Thursday through September 8th, featuring many of the area’s most beloved ensembles, including The Sun Kings, 6/16; Billy & The Showman, 6/30; King’s Highway, 7/14; Suburban Chaos, 7/28; Bob Button Band, 8/16; Gunsmoke 8/25 and Demolition Band, 9/8.
