The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County celebrates the vibLrancy and diversity of the arts and culture across the 15 towns in our region of coastal Fairfield County and each Wednesday issues our free E-Buzz newsletter with a selection of the hundreds of events posted to our website by our members.

Black Friday Book Sale at Pequot Library, Southport

Friday and Saturday, Nov 25 & 26, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Start your holiday shopping and enjoy a selection of thousands of books and media items in “like new” and “gently used” condition. Ideal for gift-giving! Admission is free, and all items are priced as marked. All proceeds support the library’s annual programs for adults and children, serving thousands of participants each year.

Rowayton Arts Center Holiday Gift Show, Rowayton

It’s a wonderland of original, handcrafted works by local artists: small ornaments and holiday-related items as well as jewelry, ceramics and knitted items, plus cards, prints and paintings, and a special selection from the Rowayton Gardeners. Proceeds from the Holiday Gift Show are used to support RAC and its educational outreach. 

The Great Trains Holiday Show at Wilton Historical Society, Wilton

It’s one of Wilton’s favorite holiday traditions! Explore the Wilton Historical Society, in all its decorated glory, and find multiple layouts of model trains that wind their way through miniature winter landscapes, vibrant towns, and mountain tunnels. Something for everyone - model trains, holiday cheer, and family fun. Through January 16th. 

Holiday Wonderland at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, Norwalk

Fri, Nov 25, noon - 3:00 pm then Wed – Sun through December 31st

Usher in the holiday season and view the exhibition recognized as one of the 10 Best Holiday Historic Home Tours in the US by USA Today. Capturing the magic of the holiday season with historic-era tree displays, a 19th-century skating scene, a festive holiday dinner party, magnificent gowns, and more. 

“The Santa Story” at Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport

Sat and Sun, Nov 26 – Dec 18 + Dec 28 – 30, 12 PM

This wildly popular Cabaret original is the heart-warming and hilarious story of a young Christopher Kringle and his journey to become Santa Claus. The perfect blend of music, mayhem, and merriment for the whole family that is sure to have you ringing jingle bells this holiday season.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical at Stamford Palace Theatre

Sat, Nov 26, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

All of your favorite characters will be there - Santa and Mrs. Claus, Hermey the Elf, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, Clarice, Yukon Cornelius, and, of course, Rudolph. This musical is an adventure that teaches us that what makes you different can be what makes you special. Don’t miss this wonderful holiday tradition that speaks to the misfit in all of us.

“Magic – A Ballroom Musical” at Wall Street Theater, Norwalk

Sat, Nov 26, 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm

Inaugurate its holiday season by coming to one of two live performances of “Magic.”  It’s the story of Pam and Bob, two lonely people who are offered free ballroom lessons as a holiday gift one enchanted Christmas weekend. The magic that happens next will only be known when you come to the show.

“Music with Wandering Roots” at StationHouse Wine Bar & Grill, Stratford

Sat, Nov 26, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Singer, songwriter and storyteller Shawn Taylor weaves songs from many colored threads of Americana. With a style wandering from Appalachian to island groves, gritty rock to sparse folk ballads, this performance is a testament to Taylor’s past decade of work. 

“Deck the Walls” at Carriage Barn Arts Center, New Canaan

Sun, Nov 27, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm 

This holiday exhibit is a do-not-miss! It includes a Wreath Auction & Sale and Small Works Exhibit. Over 40 stunning, one-of-a-kind wreaths created by designers, artists and others will be on display in the gallery and auctioned online. Bidding runs 11/27 - 12/3 at noon. The exhibit is an annual fundraiser that features a juried selection of original art priced at $250 or less as well as limited-edition prints, cards and other artisan-made items. On view through December 10th.
