Croquet Anyone? Join Greenwich Croquet Club's Lee Kennedy on May 18

You are invited for an evening of fun to learn about this beloved yet complex game on May 18 at Greenwich Historical Society’s Cos Cob campus.

Lee Kennedy of Greenwich Croquet Club will discuss the history of the sport, conduct a live demonstration, and invite attendees for some hands-on practice in shooting hoops. As a bonus, participants are invited to join Lee and members of Greenwich Croquet Club on May 19th and 20th to play at their Bruce Park courts.

The May 18th lecture and demonstration are open to anyone with an interest in croquet, including beginners and those who have only played backyard-style. Lee Kennedy will ensure it’s a fun and educational evening that will entice participants to pick up a mallet and play.

Croquet is featured in the Historical Society’s exhibition Sports! More Than Just a Game, a dynamic history of local sporting culture that showcases how athletes in Greenwich and surrounding communities broke boundaries, tested limits and found common ground through athletic achievement, on view through September 3rd.
