Don’t miss this enchanting Tony Award-winning musical with one of the most glorious scores ever to hit Broadway. It’s a family friendly production telling the story of eleven-year-old orphaned Mary Lennox, and her return to Yorkshire to live with her reclusive uncle Archibald and his son Colin. The estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons Mary with haunting melodies and the spirits from her past who guide her through her new life. Running through June 11th.

“Oh What A Night: A Century of Evening Wear"

New Canaan Museum & Historical Society

Celebrating the glamor and glitter of a hundred years of evening dress with breath-taking selections from the Museum’s clothing and textile collection. Gowns, along with a selection of coats, shoes, hats, accessories, and men’s wear will all be on display in The Susan Bishop Gallery. Highlights include a beautifully conserved green velvet House of Worth gown c. 1880, a turquoise silk 1964 Balenciaga dress and matching coat, and even a silk and velvet dress worn to the inauguration ball of President U.S. Grant in 1869! On view through Sept 30th.

Presenting a spectacle by Robert Hawkins, a staged concert reading with top local actors. The play is a bitter-sweet, semi-biographical story with humor, pathos, and sentiment that takes place in the hot summer of 1942, in a small Alabama town.

Michelle Pauker brings Joni Mitchell’s music to MoCA in an intimate one-night concert, performing hits such as “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Both Sides Now,” and “A Case of You.” Arrive as early as 6:15 pm to explore the current exhibition and to purchase delicious food and drinks.

Get ready for a new musical adventure, a Family Festivities Series based on The New York Times bestselling series by Deborah Diesen, with illustrations by Dan Hanna. The new musical features whimsical puppets and live performers in a sweeping oceanic adventure. When Mr. Fish sets out on a quest to find Miss Clam’s missing pearl, he discovers there is more to him than his permanently plastered pout. Performances are approximately one-hour long, and appropriate for ages 3 and up.

What We Remember – and Why: A Writing Workshop

Why are some memories "frayed at the edges?" And what can we do to excavate memories we thought were long lost? These are questions that will be considered, inspired by the fabric collages in Amiri Hangami's exhibition “A Homage to Home.” Join Aldrich Educator Barb Jennes and fellow writers as they plumb the deep well of memory, returning with poetry and prose.

Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder

15-time Grammy Award Winner Ricky Skaggs boasts one of the most significant careers in recent country music history. At age five, Skaggs picked up the mandolin and within a few years he emerged as a prominent name in the country scene. Over the course of his 50-year career, he has written and recorded with progressive bluegrass acts such as J.D. Crowe & The New South, and Country Gentlemen.
