The Artist Collective of Westport opens its “Exhilarating New Pop-Up Exhibit! On Sunday at 5pm, come to an Artist Talk to hear about the artists’ process. Participating artists include CAFC members Janine Brown, Susan Fehlinger, Emily Laux, Toby Michaels, Jay Petrow, Diane Pollack, and Jen Williams.
The 3rd Annual Bridgeport Film Fest

It’s a great weekend to enjoy one or all three days of films plus two immersive virtual reality experiences; workshops, including a stand-up comedy workshop led by comedy legend Lisa Lampanelli; a live art installation; food trucks; local vendors; after-parties and more! Led by Bridgeport Native and Artistic Director Jason A. Coombs, this festival aims to highlight the diversity of the film community in Bridgeport and the surrounding regions by showcasing films directed by over 50% women and POC filmmakers. In a ceremony that concludes the weekend, prizes will be awarded to winning films chosen by a panel of acclaimed jurors.
“Fun Home” by Fairfield Center Stage

This immersive production of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical and Pulitzer Prize finalist is adapted from Alison Bechdel's groundbreaking graphic novel. The story is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. An all-local production, the cast is composed of nine area performers and a live orchestra. The show also runs next weekend, same times.

John Pizzarelli Trio – Stage and Screen

The world-renowned guitarist and singer John Pizzarelli has been hailed by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz.” Established as one of the prime contemporary interpreters of the Great American Songbook, Pizzarelli has expanded that repertoire by including the music of Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Tom Waits, and the Beatles.
Carriage Barn Annual Member Show

The largest show of the year, this exhibit features 175 pieces that celebrate the range, interests, and talents of Carriage Barn member artists working across all subjects, styles, and media in art. All work is for sale and can also be viewed through an online gallery launching on September 11. The reception includes live music and refreshments as well as the annual presentation of the Betty Barker Award.

The Connecticut based duo, Brianne Chasanoff and Mary Gardner, perform together on piano, guitar, percussion and vocals. Their musical talents blend and harmonize perfectly, speaking to the listener intimately through their sensitivity and depth of emotional expression. Brianne has her Master’s degree in Studio Composition and Mary Gardner has a BS in Music Ed and a Master’s in Percussion Performance. Their latest CD will be available at the door.
