First Selectman's August 8, 2016 Public Hearing - Notice for Public Comment/Input

NOTICE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT/INPUT 
FIRST SELECTMAN’S PUBLIC HEARING ON THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE’S FUNDING RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CDBG PROGRAM YEAR 2017 AND SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENTS TO THE PY2016 ANNUAL PLAN

The Honorable Peter J. Tesei, First Selectman of the Town of Greenwich, will hold a Public Hearing on August 8, 2016 (Monday) at 7:00PM in the Town Hall Meeting Room (101 Field Point Road, 1st floor, Greenwich, CT 06830) to gather comments from interested persons and/or organizations on the proposed funding recommendations of the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) for the CDBG program year 2017.  The proposed activities recommended to be funded with 2017 CDBG grants are specified below.  The list will also be available during the public hearing or by contacting the Community Development Office at (203) 622-3791 or via email to perfe@greenwichct.org.

Any individual, group or agency may provide their comments during the public hearing.  In addition, written comments on the CDAC funding recommendations may be submitted directly to the Town (CDBG Office or First Selectman’s Office), 101 Field Point Rd., Greenwich, CT 06830.  The First Selectman will consider all comments received prior to making his final funding recommendations. A summary of the comments and a summary of any comments not accepted and the reasons for such will be included with the submission of the 2017 Annual Action Plan. 

In addition to the proposed PY2017 activities listed above, the First Selectman will also solicit comments/input on the substantial amendments to the PY2016 Annual Action Plan (2015-2019 Consolidated Plan).

In accordance with HUD regulations at 24 CFR 91.505 Amendments to the consolidated plan and 24 CFR 91.105Citizen participation plan; local governments, interested citizens must be provided an opportunity to comment on any substantial amendment for a period of not less than 30 days before the amendment is implemented.  The period for citizens to provide comments on the allocations listed above is officially open as of the date of this notice and will remain open until September 30, 2016.  Written comments should be sent to the Community Development Office, 101 Field Point Road, Greenwich, CT 06830 or via email to perfe@greenwichct.org

In addition, citizens may also provide their comments during the First Selectman’s public hearing scheduled on August 8, 2016 (Monday) at 7pm in the Town Hall Meeting Room.  Under local Town procedures, the substantial amendments must be approved by the BET and the RTM.
