Greenwich Ranked #2 in Connecticut's Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns

A new study, conducted by the Yankee Institute for Public Policy announced Connecticut's Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns, ranking Greenwich #2.

Here's what Yankee Institute had to say about Greenwich:

Famous for affluence, hedge funds and financial service companies, Greenwich—the largest town on Connecticut’s Gold Coast and wealthiest town in the state—was rec - ognized as No. 12 by Money magazine in their “100 Best Places to Live in the United States.” Apart from higher tax - es, which brought down its score, Greenwich scored well in the community allure, economic vitality and infrastructure categories. Greenwich is served by the Metro-North Rail - road’s New Haven line, providing easy access to New York City. Greenwich is home to many parks, country clubs, and beach clubs as well as Greenwich Avenue’s many shops and restaurants.

According to the report, the authors of Connecticut’s Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns collected and measured data from Connecticut’s 50 largest municipalities based on community allure, economic vitality, tax burden and transportation infrastructure and found that while the state may be in dire economic straits, some towns are still able to foster a competitive business environment.

Fairfield leads the pack as the most business-friendly. Coming in at #3 is Westport followed by Ridgefield at #4 and Simsbury, #5.
