There is a video series by Connecticut’s own Peace of Mind Canine available here.

We checked in with the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and found out that they are promoting training the family dog with everyday manners – the behaviors found in the APDT's Canine Life and Social Skills program!

What’s more, throughout the month, the Association of Professional Dog Trainers is providing dog owners with free webinars that boast tips and tricks for teaching the basic commands including sit, down, stay, wait, coming when called and walking on a loose leash.

Visit Train Your Dog Month for a host of training videos and resources.

Dogs are the most popular pet by far according to AVMA. They report that 50% of Connecticut residents have a pet which places it 43rd on the list of pet ownership by state according to a 2018 study by AVMA. The national average is 57%.
