Stamford Senior Center Miniature Golf Tournament Lands A Hole In One!

The Stamford Senior Center held its 3rd Annual Miniature Golf Tournament on September 9, raising nearly $9,000 to help older adults in the greater Stamford area remain active and connected to the community.

Over 80 golfers, including Stamford Mayor David Martin, came out for a fun-filled evening of friendly competition, knowing that their support was making a difference.

“Our mission at Maplewood is not just to support our residents, but to also support other seniors out in the community. We’re impassioned to help everyone, and that’s why we wanted to support tonight,” said Lisa Walsh, Marketing Project Manager at Maplewood Senior Living, a Title Sponsor for the event.

The event featured nine holes of mini-golf on the Center’s covered patio and recreation room. Each hole was sponsored by a local business or group, such as Principle Wealth Partners, Oasis Senior Advisors and ARK healthcare & Rehabilitation at St. Camillus.

As a nonprofit organization, the Stamford Senior Center must fundraise to support the wide array of active and engaging programming it offers throughout the year. With exercise classes, lifelong learning programs, expert speakers and more, the organization is a cherished resource for its over 900 members.

“It is great to see everyone come out, have some fun and support the Senior Center. It’s been a long eighteen months, and I hope it’s a sign of better things to come. We are so grateful to everyone who came to support the Center at this event,” said Christina Crain, Executive Director of the Stamford Senior Center.

On May 5, 2022, the organization will host its ‘Lives Blossom’ event, the Stamford Senior Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. To learn more, or to become a sponsor, please contact Christina Crain at ccrain@stamfordct.gov or call 203-977-5151.

The Stamford Senior Center would like to thank its event sponsors, including AJM Real Estate Services Inc., Cassena Care at Stamford, Edgehill, Maplewood Senior Living, The Residence at Summer Street, SilverSource, Care Patrol, The Waterstone on High Ridge, Len Schwartz, Clare Bolduc, and Osborn Home Care.
