Flash Flood Watch Message from Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works

Greenwich, CT., October 25, 2021 – According to weather forecasts, a flash flood watch is in effect for the Town of Greenwich from Monday evening (10/25) to Tuesday evening (10/26).  This is due to a coastal storm, which is anticipated to bring a prolonged period of heavy rain, as well as the potential for localized flash flooding, strong winds, coastal flooding, and beach erosion.

Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works, Highway Division, will have crews out to prepare for the storm by clearing drainage structures, including catch basin grates, headwalls, and storm grate cages. Since a reasonable amount of leaves have fallen recently, the Department of Public Works asks residents to do their part by checking to ensure drainage structures on or near their property are free and clear of debris, leaves, and any other obstructions.
