Greenwich Police Sergeant Debora Vesciglio to Retire After Three Decades

Greenwich Police Sergeant Debora Vesciglio is retiring at the end of the month after 33 years of service to the Town.

Before coming to work for the Greenwich Police Department, Sergeant Vesciglio was a teacher in the Stamford Catholic Regional School system and a coach at New Canaan High School.

Sergeant Vesciglio's career included assignments with the Patrol Division, Detective Division, and the Statewide Narcotic Task Force. She also was a crash investigator, Field Training Officer, and a member of the Special Response Unit where she was a Crisis Negotiator.

Sergeant Vescglio's final assignment was as our Training Section Sergeant. Her meticulous attention to detail and no-nonsense leadership approach was recognized by the State, and her Training Section was a model for other police agencies to emulate.

We hope to see her return as a Special Police Officer so that the citizens of Greenwich may continue to benefit from her institutional knowledge, and the officers of the department may continue to enjoy her presence!

Congratulations and good luck!!
