Junior League of Greenwich Touch A Truck Fundraiser Welcomes 2500!

The Junior League of Greenwich hosted its annual fundraiser, Touch A Truck, this past Sunday, May 22nd at Greenwich Town Hall with over 2500 attendees!

Kids of all ages came to enjoy dozens of unique trucks, various children’s activities including a roaming railroad, soccer games, martial arts, arts & crafts stations, food trucks, a vintage ice cream truck and live music. As always, there were firetrucks, police vehicles, ambulances, tow trucks, and construction equipment to explore, as well as buses and fancy race cars.

New this year, the first hour of TAT offered a reduced sensory experience which provided families an opportunity to explore all of the trucks and vehicles in a smaller group setting, while vehicles refrained from the use of lights, horns, and other loud sounds.

“The youngest members of our community were more than ready to honk horns, blare sirens, converse with our local police and fire officers, and participate in hands on outdoor activities. We loved seeing all the smiling faces and are extremely grateful for our community’s tremendous support for Touch A Truck” said Karen Richard, JLG President.  “After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, it felt wonderful to once again host this beloved family fun day.”

The Junior League of Greenwich would like to thank its generous leading sponsors: Whitby School, Feast & Fettle, and Corcoran Centric Realty. We’d also like to thank our other sponsors: Au Pair in America, Big Leaps Pediatric Therapy, Breezemont East, Bruce Museum, Children's Medical Group, Classic Prep Childrenswear, County TV & Appliance, Garden Catering, Gofer, Greenwich Braces, HomeSquare Pro, HSS, JB Moving, JCC at Greenwich Reform Synagogue, K&J Tree Service, Keely Thune / Compass, Little Friends Child Care/Nursery School, New England Total Energy, Octavia Melly - Sotheby's, Rinaldi's Deli, Rudy's Executive Transportation, Sam Bridge Nursery, Santaguida Sanitation, St. Paul’s Day School, The Preschool at Second Congregational, and Wernert Construction.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the community projects of the Junior League of Greenwich including PositivelyMe!, Done In A Day, Done in a Year, and Money Sense.
