Greenwich Public Schools Standardized Testing Results Released for 2021-2022 School Year

Greenwich, CT, August 25, 2022 – The Connecticut State Department of Education released the results of the 2021-2022 Smarter Balanced assessment, which is the accountability assessment in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics for students in Grades 3-8, and Connecticut School SAT results.

GPS administrators will now begin their in-depth review of the standardized assessment data. Administrators will review the current status of student learning as measured by the standardized assessments and instructional practices to identify successes to celebrate and amplify, and areas of focus to address. Greenwich’s Board of Education is scheduled to receive a comprehensive report on the standardized assessment results on October 6 at the Board Retreat.

“We are excited to begin our analysis as we stay focused on helping every student find their maximum success,” Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones said. “It is so important to recognize that our teachers, administration, and entire staff show a great deal of dedication and commitment to the education of our community’s children. Our administration will continue to analyze the data in the coming weeks.”

“By placing in the 91st percentile in the 2022 ELA SBA results of districts across the State (84th in 2019) and 89th in Math (87th in 2019), it is noteworthy that over the past two years, despite the ongoing pandemic, our students had the opportunity to safely participate in in-person learning throughout.”

The complete results for the state, districts and schools, and student groups are available on the public EdSight portal at http://edsight.ct.gov.
