Greenwich Hospital receives 2017 Women’s Choice Award for Obstetrics

Greenwich Hospital has received the 2017 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics for the fourth year in a row. The award goes to the nation’s top 17 percent of hospitals considered the best to have a baby.

“Greenwich Hospital is recognized as the region’s destination hospital for maternity care, offering women in Connecticut and New York the best possible birthing experience,” said Anna Cerra, RN, DNP vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer for Greenwich Hospital. “Our compassionate and highly skilled doctors and nurses provide the full range of mother-baby care, including fertility, perinatal and neonatal services to handle all types of pregnancies and deliveries.”

More than 2,800 babies were born at Greenwich Hospital in 2016. The hospital also has a level IIIA neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for newborns who require specialized care.

The Women’s Choice Award is the only award recognizing excellence in obstetrics based on robust criteria that considered patient satisfaction and clinical excellence.

Greenwich Hospital received the award by meeting the following criteria: presence of a level IIIA NICU; low rates of early elective deliveries; high patient safety rankings by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; and high recommendation scores based on federal patient surveys.
