Greenwich Library No-Contact Pickup of Books & Materials Available Starting June 15

Greenwich Library will take the first step toward establishing in-person services by launching No-Contact Pick Up of Library materials by appointment on June 15. The safety of our patrons and staff is our top priority, so we have planned the logistics of this phase very carefully and deliberately in consultation with the Library Board of Trustees, Town officials, and other Fairfield County libraries. Scroll down to find FAQs about this service.

Although the Library closed its doors in March, staff have continued to purchase new books. They are now focused on getting nearly 2,000 items ready for you to check out, starting on June 15.

In the meantime, Greenwich Library continues to offer access to the Digital Library and one-on-one assistance by phone. Our popular virtual programming continues including A Night Out with Friends, a performing arts series sponsored by The Friends of the Greenwich Library, as well as the kick-off of our first-ever Adult Summer Reading Program along with Summer Reading programs for children and teens. For more information or to register, visit greenwichlibrary.org.

We look forward to seeing you, even if it is from a distance!

What About the Books I Currently Have Checked Out? Will I Be Fined?
We are reopening our book drops on June 15, but there's no need to rush. You'll have until July 1 to bring back any books or materials you currently have checked out.

Please do not worry about fines. No fines will be accrued on borrowed materials through July 1.

How are the Books and Materials Handled?
To protect our patrons and Library staff, all returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in and returned to circulation. Library staff will handle books and materials with extensive PPE including gloves, masks, and protective gear.

Can I Bring Book Donations?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept book donations at this time, so please do not leave them outside the Library or in any of our Book Drops.

What If I Have More Questions?
Please be sure to contact Library staff with any additional No-Contact Pick Up questions at (203) 625-6505 prior to your arrival. As always, our librarians can be reached at (203) 622-7920. We'll be happy to answer any questions or concerns!
