Why Small Businesses Matter in Greenwich (Reimagined): Tambass Charters

Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Three questions with Bobby Tambascio, founder of Tambass Charters.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

We are still running our business providing guide service and chartering our boat despite the crazy pandemic we are in. We hope everyone is safe, healthy, and well during this time.

Being out on the boats on the water has been in very high demand more than usual this season. We are seeing new boaters, previous boat owners who now have more time to use their boats and new clients picking up fishing out on the water. We are proud to provide guide service to anyone in need of local knowledge on the water. Whether it is finding new effective ways to fish, learn the rules of the road, where the rocks are, and just simply how to run and operate your own boat we are here to help. We highly encourage you to consider a guide if you are inexperienced out on the water this season! With the high demand of being on the water, we need people to be smart out there! Everyone has been very supportive of us and has been keeping us busy. We are booked right through early August.

Thank you for everyone's support during this crazy time. We are always safe on the boats, wear buffs when we need to and respect everyones personal space onboard.

Are there certain individuals or organizations that supported you and your business through this trying time?

Everyone local has been very supportive! We have had a high demand for boat guide service and chartering our private boat. Even if it is boating lessons over a fishing trip... we are here to provide you the best service from putting you on the fish to showing you how to properly and safely operate your boat.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines

We are wearing buffs/masks onboard when needed as well as respecting everyone's personal space when fishing. The marina requires everyone to wear a mask when on the dock however, once we cast off the dock you can take your mask off but are encouraged not to breathe, sneeze, or cough near others and asked not to hover over others onboard when fishing, etc. The boats are fully cleaned/bleached inside and out after every trip. All fishing gear is thoroughly washed/rinsed after each trip as well.

We thank you all for the support and look forward to getting you out on the water this season!
