Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Design Build Consultants!
Four questions with Evan Goldenberg, founder of Design Build Consultants.
Why did you start your business?
I started my business as a local Architect/Builder in 1990 during a very slow economy but managed to survive. By 1993 my business had a new focus and it began to slowly build momentum again.
What is your best-selling product/service?
I provide architectural services as a residential architect, designing and planning interior and exterior space for my clients, and then I become each client’s construction manager and build each project, one at a time in order to maintain my client's vision while I maintain the construction schedule and costs. My specialty is designing, engineering, and constructing private wine cellars and storage spaces for my client’s wine collections along with other residential renovation work. I provide full Design/Build Services.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
My small business is “reimagined” as Architectural Artistry when both sides of the company were combined. From wine cellars to residential renovation, every time a client calls with a new project, no two are ever the same. This elevates the complexity of detail for the next project which elevates them to the next level.
Evan would like to nominate his painter, Marcelo DeCarvalho of Marcelo DeCarvalho Painting - "Marcelo finishes each project with such attention to detail and care which makes all the difference in the world!"
