Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Club Sweat!

Four questions with Laura Sabia, founder of Club Sweat.

Why did you start your business?

We started our business because there was a need in the boutique fitness community for a low-impact, cardio workout. The elliptical is the most popular piece of gym equipment and no one was using it for group fitness classes.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best-selling service is group fitness classes.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Yes, we carry locally-owned brands in our retail boutique as well as all of our staff lives and works in the community.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

We have completely taken our business online so that we can help more people meet their fitness goals if they are no longer comfortable coming out to the studio and taking classes in person. We have designed a new class format of the machine to assist people in reaching their fitness goals.
