Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Three Bluebirds Swedish Dishcloths!

Our story begins with a fellow from Finland (that’s Lasse!) and a California girl (that’s Lynda!)

Three questions with Lynda Baldauf, co-founder of Three Bluebirds Swedish Dishcloths.

Why did you start your business?

Lasse (co-founder) is from Finland and grew up using Swedish dishcloths. When we started our business in 2013, Swedish dishcloths were very hard to find in the US. So we decided to offer them to US consumers. He creates the designs and we print them here in CT.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Herb Swedish Dishcloth is our most popular design!

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

SPG Printing, SGR Woodworks, Chelsea Clarke Photography, and we keep our local Cos Cob post office busy too!

Lynda would like to nominate Nit Noi Provisions to be featured next!

Three Bluebirds Swedish Dishcloths is located at 10 Schubert Lane in Cos Cob. Visit Three Bluebirds Swedish Dishcloths online here, and make sure to check out their Facebook, and Instagram pages as well!
