Diana Guzman who owns Dicha in Cos Cob with her husband Jose Lleras, announced today via social media that the restaurant will close permanently at the end of the month, January 31, 2023.
Located at 123 River Road Extension, Dicha is home to traditional Latin fare. Diana said, "We poured our heart and soul in every corner of the store from cleaning to painting to perfecting our food and baking our empanadas. We worked with great people, Dani, Martica, JuanCa, Juan Guillermo, Adriana, Carlos, Yorman… to all of them I am totally grateful because they kept us going in the most difficult times, and kept working hard every single day."
Diana said that Dicha was her mom's dream, and sadly, her mother's health prevents her from operating the business. "my husband and I have been on double duty since May of 2022. Added to our family situation, sales have not been what we expected them to be, and due to our financial situation we are forced to make this decision."
She is grateful to Dicha's wonderful customers. "Each of our customers has given us a reason to smile; your incredible reviews, your suggestions on how to market the business, each Latin Bowl, Sub or Empanada you tried, Thank You, Thank You, because for one moment you made this dream a reality."
Diana says that she and Jose hope to bring Dicha back in some capacity. "We are hoping to get Dicha back running in some shape or form. We do not know what that is, but keep us in the radar."
