New Greenwich Police Officer Steven Caldwell Sworn in by First Selectman Fred Camillo

Greenwich Police Chief James Heavey introduces the Department's newest officers. Officer Steven Caldwell was sworn in by First Selectman Fred Camillo within the Margenot Atrium at the Town of Greenwich Public Safety Complex.
 
Officer Caldwell was born and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut.  He graduated from Greenwich High School in 2003 and then attended Johnson & Wales University, where he graduated in 2005 with his Associates of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
 
Prior to becoming a Greenwich Police Officer, Officer Caldwell served as a Police Officer in the Bridgeport Police Department, where he was awarded the Police Meritorious Service Medal in July of 2021. He was also recognized by Senator Richard Blumenthal and Mayor Joseph Ganim with a Certificate of Heroism for a life-saving incident during a suicide intervention.
 
Officer Caldwell has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2012 and is currently the Assistant Chief of the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company. He was awarded the Town of Greenwich Volunteer Coordinators Award in 2018, the District Chief’s Award in 2016, and Firefighter of the Year in 2013 and 2014. He also was a graduate of the Greenwich Police Explorer program sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America.
 
Officer Caldwell will begin patrolling Greenwich after he completes a field training program to learn the Greenwich Police policies and procedures.
