Danbury Hospital regularly holds Grand Rounds: educational lectures given for physicians. For the past 3 years the hospital has annually dedicated a Grand Rounds to retired pulmonolgist Dr. Arthur Kotch in recognition of his years of service to Danbury Hospital and the community. The speakers are leaders in their specific field and it is a wonderful educational experience for the hospital's staff of physicians.
Earlier this month, Dr. Kotch requested that Dr. Octavian Ioachimescu from the Atlanta VA Medical Center (VAMC) and Emory University present at Grand Rounds. Dr. Ioachimescu was a graduate of the Danbury Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2003 and he went on to a Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care as well as a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. He was a resident at Danbury when Dr. Kotch was a pulmonologist. It was a special treat for Dr. Kotch and the entire residency program to have a former resident come back to do a lecture. Dr. Ioachimescu generously donated his honorarium to the Kotch Endowment.
