
Joseph F. Buzaid, Jr.
Joseph F. Buzaid, Jr., 90, of Danbury, CT passed away peacefully on Monday evening, June 13, 2016. He was the husband of Audrienne (George) Buzaid. Joe was born in Danbury, the son of the late Joseph F., Sr. and Nazhia (Daibis) Buzaid.
He attended St. Peter's school in Danbury and was a 1943 graduate of Danbury High School. A Naval veteran of World War II, he served with the US Coast Guard stationed in Greenland and Iceland. Joe and his brother, the late Norman F. Buzaid, Sr., established the Mutual Fuel Corp. and Mutual Appliances in Danbury in 1948. They later purchased Powerhouse Appliances in New Milford.
Joe was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Danbury. He was a member and past President of the Order of St. Charbel of the Diocese of St. Maron as well as a lifelong member of the Lebanon-American Club in Danbury. He was a past President of the Kiwanis Club of Danbury and four-term President of the former Danbury Club. He was a Director Emeritus of the New England Fuel Institute and past President of the Better Home Heating Council of Greater Danbury.
Mr. Buzaid is a fifteen year member of the New Milford Chamber of Commerce and member of the board of directors of the Greater New Milford Business Bureau. He was a past member of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Buzaid was chairman of the Grandparent's Fund at Canterbury School in New Milford and active in the United Way of New Milford.
Besides his brother, Norman, and parents, Joe was predeceased by his siblings Frederick, Emile, and Freda Bondatti. Besides his wife, survivors include his son: Jay F. Buzaid and his wife, Susan, of Redding; Jeffrey F. Buzaid and his wife, Lisa, of Sherman and J. Scott Buzaid and his partner, Mark Devlin, of Bridgewater. His daughter-in-law: Laura Kiely Mitchell and her husband, Kevin. His grandchildren: Lindsay; Alexandra and her fiancé, Edward Wilson, Brendan; Samantha; Jake; Hillary and Zachary. His twin sister: Josephine Weber of Danbury. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 4pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 1pm-4pm on Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Anthony Church, Danbury.
